Reem awarded the M.E.I Award

On the 8th of March 2017, Reem was one of the recipients who were awarded the M.E.I (Motivational. Empowering. Inspirational) Women’s Award in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The award was presented by the first Woman Chancellor of the University of Essex, Shami Chakrabarti, to the nominees who were nominated anonymously by members of the university (staff and students) in a celebration ceremony in recognition of their achievements and their positive influence on those around them.

The room was filled with inspiring women who have been faced with immense challenges yet managed to touch the lives of many in various ways thereby having an impact on people’s lives and creating positive change within their communities.

“I am so honoured and humbled to receive this recognition and award for I often feel like I don’t really make much progress since I always seem to watch most of my work going by unnoticed and with no impact; especially that I come from a region where issues such as the ones I work on are at the bottom of the agenda. Therefore, I am so grateful to whomever nominated me for this award as it has served as a comforter to me in making me feel that I am making progress and now I feel that my energy has re-charged!”

If Reem has inspired, empowered or motivated you in anyway, feel free to drop her an e-mail to join her inspiring change movement!!!
